Social media high on the agenda for @Apps_World 2012
Social media is certainly on the agenda at Apps World in Earls Court 2, London on 2-3 October, with Facebook, Foursquare and Google all confirmed for the industry-leading event.
Facebook will be present and featured as a case study at the two-day free to attend Droid World track, with developer Simon Cross speaking about how the social giant’s platform can be used to grow an Android app.
Google analyst Rashad Sharif will be present at a panel looking to discuss methods of building a brand’s mobile marketing strategy, while Google principal architect Grant Allen will be exploring Android 4, also at the free Droid World track.
Google’s efforts in the avenue of connected television, Google TV, will also be touched upon in the TV Apps & Multiscreen track, with discussion concerning the future of connected TV, and whether the marketplace is moving towards interchangeable apps and channels.
Omid Ashtari, European director of business development at Foursquare, will be speaking at a panel on the Mobile Marketing & Advertising track concerning leading location based marketing strategies.
Given Foursquare’s relevance in terms of connecting and discovering new places, their opinion will be highly sought in terms of what consumers want from a location-based service and the importance of value between marketers and location service users.
